Day Nine: Muscle Bound

No, I am not talking about lifting weights to enter a Body Building contest, or the like. Nor am I considering looking like cigar-chewing Arnie. Oh my, no!

I’m talking about something happening in the last day or so in which I seemed to have pulled/hurt a muscle in the small of my back. Which is now causing me some discomfort. Nothing serious… I hope. But, nonetheless, if I move in a certain way, said muscle lets it be known it doesn’t want me to go in that direction.

So, we’re taking a few days of quiet time, and will, in all likelihood, be staying close to home and or not doing anything too strenuous. I just want to give my ‘twinge’ time to settle and or decide what it’s going to do: heal or become a full-on pain in the back. Because, getting an appointment with the doctor around here is nigh on impossible. Well, actually you can get an appointment, it just might be anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks from now.

Anyway, this down time should give me time to catch up on some reading.

      Thanks, Margot. It’s giving me a chance to play catch up on reading blog posts, and to just sit and read too.

  1. Ouch, very sensible to take extra care and rest, Alex. And all that reading will help to make the rest worthwhile 🙂 Hope the pain eases quickly.

      Indeed, thank you, Sandra. Reading is at least distracting from the discomfort, and the fact I can’t go out, like a child wanting to play outside. It’s just as well, because the temperature has been in the mid 30s again. A bit too hot to linger outside for any length of time.
